NON TRADITIONAL PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Many of the projects whose scope and end product is not well defined use  Agile Project Management. This is specifically seen in the software development projects . SCRUM which is used widely is discussed in the section below:
SCRUM

(Pressman and Maxim, 2014)

  • FEATURES: A piece of the product that delivers some useful functionality to a customer. ( Gray and Larson, 2014)

  • SPRINTS: Iterative cycles which constitute of:

ANALYSIS -> DESIGN -> BUILD -> TEST

      These usually last 4 to 5 weeks.

  • Scrum meetings - These are daily short meetings where the progress of the scrum and issues are discussed.

  • Product owner, development team and the Scrum master are part of a scrum.

  • There is a Scrum master who coordinates the sprints and a Product owner who prioritizes features.

  • All changes in the features are made either before the sprint begins or at the end.

  • BURN RATE- It usually shows the tasks pensing and the estimated completion date.
